Works Updates

The MRA is currently undertaking works in the Milligan Street precinct of the Perth City Link project between the Perth Arena and the former Perth Entertainment Centre site. The works will run until mid-2012 and mainly involve:

  • creating two new development sites between the Perth Arena and former Perth Entertainment Centre
  • installing and upgrading services including key water, sewer, power and gas infrastructure for the city
  • extending Milligan Street to provide access to the Arena and bus route access to Wellington Street
  • modifications to the southern approach to the existing pedestrian overpass to maintain access between the city and Northbridge
  • creating a large attractive landscaped area with trees, seating and state of the art lighting

WORKS PLANNED FOR 30 APRIL– 13 MAY 2012

  • Ongoing construction of Milligan Street extension road.
  • Continuation of works in Wellington Street, with the closure of the northern-most eastbound lane in front of the MRA works site until 7 May. Works in this area include:
    • water main installation;
    • Milligan Street intersection works; and
    • granite kerb installation

Footpath access through the works area will be maintained, with access to the Wellington/Milligan Street signalled intersection to also be retained.
