Developments will be required to incorporate the highest practicable standards of new technologies for heating and cooling; use energy efficient materials; further minimise, recycle and reuse energy, waste and water; and protect the area’s unique biodiversity. The Master Plan maintains a strong focus on high quality streets and promotes increased use of public transport, walking and cycling.
Developments will introduce new residents, workers and visitors to Riverside. The flow-on of this, including increased local retail spend, will help support the economic vitality of the area.
The mix of developments, affordable housing initiatives and quality public transport networks will contribute to and support a diverse, vibrant and inclusive community, integrated with its surrounding neighbourhoods.
