Riverside will transform the eastern gateway to the city into a popular inner-city destination that embraces the natural beauty of the Swan River.
At the flagship 4ha Waterbank site, adjacent to the Causeway, works will soon commence to prepare the site for future development by Lend Lease. These infrastructure works will make way for the creation of a vibrant community that incorporates a hotel development, shopping quarter and new residential and office accommodation. Roadworks will also be undertaken in the area to help improve traffic flow and cater for the growing number of people who will live, work and socialise at Riverside.
In the Queens precinct, Western Australian developer Diploma Group was recently announced as the builder for QIII - the second stage of the Queens Riverside development Frasers Property Australia.
QIII is a $100million, 26-storey residential tower comprised of 265 apartments, including 58 ‘dual key’ apartments, a relatively new concept to Perth in which two dwellings share a common foyer, on a single title. Together with Fraser Suites Perth, a 236-suite luxury hotel which is due for completion this year, QIII will create a lively new urban quarter for the eastern end of Perth’s CBD. Approval has also been given to the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) for a 10-storey mixed use building that will include 138 new apartments. Building is expected to start next year. When complete, Riverside will provide 3,400 new apartments and more than 80,000 square metres of retail and commercial space to the area, increasing inner city activity and accommodating Perth’s growing population.
