Milligan Street precinct taking shape

6 March 2012

Milligan Bridge Plaza - view south.jpgPolished steel “clouds”, created by acclaimed visual artist Jon Tarry, will be installed in the Perth City Link’s Milligan Street precinct.

The art works - titled Cumulus, Cirrus and Stratocumulus – will have lighting and water elements to bring them to life by day and night.

The MRA is working to transform the current industrial-looking area into a community space for the people of Perth and visitors to enjoy.

Two of the art works will be installed in mid-2012 with the third piece likely to be placed in the future pedestrian connection to Northbridge.

The works in the precinct – between the Perth Arena and former Perth Entertainment Centre site – are more than half complete. These works include an extension of Milligan Street to provide access to Perth Arena parking and improve connectivity and movement through the area; the creation of two new development sites, including one earmarked for a hotel; and the installation and upgrading of key services to accommodate the needs of a growing CBD.

Visit the works update page for more information on the works.
