Forrestdale Business Park East progressing
14 June 2012
The Forrestdale Business Park East continues to attract major businesses with the recent opening of the Masters Home Improvement store, construction of a new Bunnings Warehouse and the commencement of works on the extension of Ranford Road.
Located approximately 30 kilometres south east of the city, the 188 hectare precinct offers excellent access to major arterial roads and is a contemporary, efficient and highly functional new industrial business park for Perth’s south east corridor.
The second store of their entry into Western Australia’s retail market, Masters Home Improvement is a joint venture between Woolworths and US retailer Lowe’s and offers a wide range of products in a single location. The Forrestdale store employs 180 staff across 13,000 square metres of new retail floor space, offers unique customer services such as kids DIY workshops and tile cutting, and is proving popular with local residents and businesses keen to discover this new renovator and DIY haven.
Just south of the Masters store, construction is underway on one of Western Australia’s newest Bunnings Warehouses. A very welcome addition to the Forrestdale Business Park East, Bunnings will provide more choice for local residents and is due to open before the end of the year. The 16,000 square metre store will offer convenient access to a familiar shopping experience for locals seeking home improvement and hardware goods.
A key milestone in the delivery of the Forrestdale Business Park East is the commencement of works to extend Ranford Road from Lake Road through to the Armadale and Twelfth Road intersection. The Ranford Road upgrade will form one of two key road frontages to the business park allowing direct access to these new stores. With completion of the roadworks expected later this year, this significant extension will allow for greater access and increased development potential.
The Forrestdale Business Park East is one of a number of redevelopment opportunities being undertaken by the MRA that are helping to stimulate investment in the growing South East Metropolitan region and facilitate a diversity of new employment opportunities for the local community.
