Station Water Park Mosaic concept

Coming Soon: Water Park Mosaic

  • Elizabeth Quay

Inspired by many elements of the Noongar people this mosaic will sit at the base of the BHP Billiton Water Park. A collaboration between artists Sandra Hill and Jenny Dawson, the artwork represents the Dreaming story of the creation of the Milky Way.

The mosaic depicts water winding its way through the playground with the smaller blue circles representing Hyde Park Lake and Lake Monger, the only two remaining lakes that are left in the greater Perth area.

The black circle is representative of the ongoing presence of the Noongar people of South Western Australia and the red circle symbolizes the blood of the people, in the past, the present and the future.

The mosaic will be laid at the bottom of the BHP Billiton Water Park in  2016.
