Australian Masters Athletics, in partnership with the Western Australian Government, is pleased to have won the bid to host the 2016 World Masters Athletics Championships in Perth.

Perth 2016 hopes to attract participants, supporters and officials from 80 different countries.  It is anticipated that approximately two-thirds of competitors and spectators will travel internationally to attend the event, whch is open to competitors aged 35 years or older.

The Perth 2016 Welcoming Ceremony at Elizabeth Quay, presented by the City of Perth will attract a global audience of 2000 participants plus spectators, with formalities including an Athletes Parade, athletes and officials oath, Welcome to Country and official speeches followed by a celebration with local entertainment.
