The 2015 KickstART Festival is a huge series of youth arts happenings taking over the cultural heart of the city during April, and has become a yearly highlight of the National Youth Week festivities in Western Australia.

Presented by Propel Youth Arts WA in partnership with the Department of Local Government and Communities, the KickstART Festival delivers an enriching program of arts workshops, discussion forums, performances, live music, special events and activities, throughout the Perth Cultural Centre and surrounds, from April 7 – 27.

During this year’s KickstART Festival, you can look forward to:

KickstART Market Day
Weave your way through colourful stalls and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the KickstART Market Day from 11am – 6pm on Saturday 11 April.

Creative Workshops

Sink your teeth into something creative! Each year we run a range of free workshops run by local artists, with something for everyone aged 12-26. From crafts to photography and illustration these workshops are designed for people looking to try something new, explore their creativity and meet likeminded people. All our workshops are subsidised by our amazing sponsors so we can bring them to you for free. Yes, some of the best things in life are free!

Discussion Forums
What subjects are you passionate about? What needs discussing? What is important to you? The KickstART Forums are led by industry representatives and offer young people a platform to chat to those in the know about mental health and wellbeing, self-publishing, entrepreneurialism, government policy and sexual identity. For the first time in KickstART history, our forums will be streamed online in real time. Young people living in regional WA can register, tune in online and participate over the net! Recorded forums will be archived on Propel's website for future viewing.

The KickstART Festival would not be possible without the generous assistance of the Department of Local Government and Communities, Department of Culture and the Arts, Lotterywest, City of Perth, Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority and HyperFest.
