Through the Looking Glass Workshop

  • Perth Cultural Centre

Inspired by PICA's magical exhibition The Secret Garden, young artists are invited to create their own animated films.

In this special one-day workshop participants will learn how to animate their dreams using iPads and mixed media including collage, drawing and 3D modeling. After a tour of the exhibition filmmaker and visual artists, Ned Reilly and Poppy van Oorde-Grainger will take you through the basics of stop-motion animation using simple iPad software.

Ned Reilly is a young artist working with video sculpture, painting and performance. Poppy van Oorde-Grainger is a filmmaker and an experienced community arts facilitator who has worked with children and young people across Australia and the UK since 2002, helping them to tell their stories through art making.
