What will change after handover?

Project handover will see the alignment of the local government planning framework with the framework and transfer of other statutory planning documents of the DevelopmentWA (acting through the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority) as required, meaning planning authority will be returned to the City of Perth and Western Australian Planning Commission.

Following completion of the project handover process, all planning applications will need to be lodged with the City of Perth. DevelopmentWA (acting through the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority), will no longer play any role in processing planning applications for land in the normalised area.
