Manchester United Perth Tour 2019

  • Elizabeth Quay
  • Yagan Square

Perth will literally roll out the red carpet to mark the historic visit by English Premier League club Manchester United.

Yagan Square and Elizabeth Quay will be lit up in vibrant shades of red to celebrate the arrival of the world’s most famous football club, along with Optus Stadium, Matagarup Bridge, Trafalgar Bridge and the Perth Bell Tower, while city streets including Adelaide Terrace, James Street, Mounts Bay Road and the Causeway will all fly the Manchester United flag.

Premier Mark McGowan declared Manchester United “one of the most famous sporting clubs in the world” and said his Government was proud to have secured the team’s visit.

“Thousands of people are expected to visit our State during Manchester United’s 10-day stay and this is expected to inject millions of dollars into our economy,” said the Premier.

With more than 300 million fans from around the world, Manchester United is expected to bring its A-team to town for two games against Perth Glory and Leeds United at Optus Stadium. Held on July 13 and 17 respectively, the blockbuster games will also be screened at Yagan Square on our Digital Tower and inside Market Hall from 6:30pm on both days. You can view more information about the live screenings here.
