New heart of the city on track to open next month

  • Yagan Square

Yagan Square – the new heart of Perth – will open to the public on the March long weekend.

Final food and beverage tenancies are leased, a $750,000, three-year contract with Screenwest has been awarded and final landscaping, site preparation, commissioning and cleaning is well underway on site.

Screenwest will draw on their extensive library of content and partnerships with national and international producers and filmmakers to curate, program and operate the digital tower and canopies. An emerging and established artist program is also being developed to provide bespoke creative works for the screen and canopies.

Cult donut bar Lena Lu brings their Italian bomboloni donuts to Yagan Square while Primal Pantry will open a second CBD store offering clean eating breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The final tenancy overlooking the upper level amphitheatre is a casual dining collaboration by Kevin Ofperkuch of Bunbury Farmers Market and Paul Vanderplancke of Cantina 663. The fresh food offering is farm to plate with a strong focus on south west produce and food providence.

Bunuru Welcome, a community celebration named after the Noongar season for February - March, will be held from 23 – 25 March featuring live performances of music and dance and providing an opportunity to explore Perth’s newest destination.
