People, place, home the focus of new Woodbridge apartments

  • Midland

The Woodbridge on Green development at 15 Yelverton Drive, Woodbridge will comprise 79 one, two and three-bedroom apartments over five levels.

The development is well positioned to leverage the area's existing infrastructure and offers private, social and affordable shared equity housing opportunities.

Located in the MRA's Midland Workshops Precinct, residents will be a short walk away from a shopping centre, Woodbridge Primary School, Midland Public Hospital, a future medical school and recreational amenities

There is a cycle path to Perth's CBD and the Midland train station and bus interchange will be within 500 metres of Woodbridge on Green.

The project is in line with the McGowan Government's METRONET objective to create accessible housing developments with appropriate density around public transport infrastructure.

Leading developer Psaros will deliver the Woodbridge on Green project on land owned by the Department of Communities. Construction is expected to take 18 months and create about 80 jobs. The total project value is estimated at $30 million.

The development embraces infill housing, with a focus on sustainable high quality, affordable, medium to higher density housing developments - an emerging market in Perth.

Comments attributed to Housing Minister Peter Tinley:

"Woodbridge on Green will bring a new range of innovative housing options and deliver integrated and co-ordinated transport networks, as well as an improved lifestyle for residents.

"The McGowan Government's vision is to leverage a Government-owned land asset at no impact to State net debt and transform Midland into a thriving precinct."

Comments attributed to Midland MLA Michelle Roberts:

"This local housing development is a very welcome addition and will help transform Midland's precinct into a great place to live and work. I also welcome the local jobs this project will create.

"With Midland hospital, the Police Operations Centre, an expanded Midland Gate Shopping Centre and the train station, it will be a great place to live."
