New pedestrian link between the CBD and Northbridge

The long-awaited reconnection of the Perth CBD and Northbridge has arrived with the opening of a pedestrian link along the new King Street extension.

New pedestrian and cycle routes through the Perth City Link area are now in place, with the temporary walkway which runs over the dive tunnel to be closed from Wednesday 13 December 2017.

City workers, visitors and Perth Arena event goers can now enjoy a pleasant walk through the Kings Square cafe precinct and gardens as they make their way between the city, Northbridge, Perth Busport and the train station.

The King Street extension is one of five new connections being created as part of Perth City Link. A new public open space - called Manatj Park - at the heart of this connection will open later in the year. Early next year, cars will be able to drive on the new two-way road connecting King Street in the city to Lake Street in Northbridge.
