Roe Street traffic impacts

Works will commence on Monday 11 September to remove the median islands on Roe Street and prepare for a signalised intersection at the new King Street extension to Lake Street. This extension between Wellington and Roe streets will provide a new two-way vehicle connection and additional pedestrian access between the city and Northbridge.

Roe Street traffic impacts between Milligan Street and Nicks Lane include:

  • Traffic reduced to one lane in each direction and speed limit reduced to 40km/hour.
  • No right turn from Roe Street into Lake Street. Detour in place via Milligan Street.
  • From 11 September to 25 September, access into the City of Perth car park from Roe Street remains but vehicles exiting the car park can only turn left. From 25 September to 6 November, the right turn into the car park from Roe Street will not be permitted.
  • Charter vehicle bay on the north side of Roe Street (west of Lake Street) unavailable for use.
  • Pedestrians and cyclists using the shared path will be diverted onto the carriageway, with barriers installed protecting them from vehicles.

The new road is due to be operational later this year. Find out more about the King Street extension.
