We invite comment on the proposed draft Amendment No. 1 to the Subiaco Redevelopment Scheme 2, which seeks to amend the defined term ‘storey’ under Appendix 2 – Defined Terms as follows (in bold):

Storey  means the portion of a building which is situated between the top of any floor and the top of the floor next above it, and if there is no floor above it, that portion between the top of the floor and the ceiling above it, but does not include any level that is at least 50% below natural ground level by volume.

Double height floors greater than 5m floor to ceiling are counted as two storeys.

The amendment will better align the definition with other Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority, State and local government statutory planning documents and provide greater clarity and consistency in the assessment of development applications within the Subiaco Redevelopment Area.
