The Chinese New Year Fair is an annual free community event which brings the colour and excitement of Chinese culture to the streets of Northbridge.

James Street and Lake Street will be lined with around 100 market stalls, as well as street performances, lion and dragon dances, Chinese ethnic costume parades, kids rides and a WA police pipe band parade.

Chinatown on Roe Street and its laneways will host performances, market stalls, lion dances and fire crackers, while Northbridge Piazza will be transformed into a Kids Zone with water slides, animal rides, balloonist, face painting, origami and a spectacular multicultural evening concert.

The MRA is a proud sponsor of this event, with additional State Government funding provided through the Office of Multicultural Interests' community grants program.

The fair is now in its fourth year and attracted a crowd of more than 60,000 people in 2014.

Find out more about the fair, including the full program of activities, on the Chung Wah Association website.
