Chinese New Year, known in modern Chinese as the "Spring Festival", is China's most important holiday celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar.

2017 marks the year of the Fire Rooster.  It's believed the rooster has five virtues: gentleness, chivalrousness, bravery, loyalty and trustworthiness.

This 10 day festival will be a special time for family and friends of all backgrounds to come together and celebrate unique Chinese New Year customs with daytime and evening experiences, colourful installations and theming, market stalls and tantalising offers from your favourite Asian food vendors.

The heart of the festival will be at Elizabeth Quay and will showcase giant lit zodiac animals and a mesmerising interactive lantern wall.

All shows, classes and activities are free!
