A free public screening of the award-winning documentary feature Putuparri and the Rainmakers (2015) will be held in the State Theatre Centre Rehearsal Room 1. The film is a heartfelt tale of Aboriginal man, Tom 'Putaparri' Lawson living in Fitzroy Crossing that maps out his ancestors' spiritual connection to the land and his family's continuing custodianship of it.

Winner of the Cinefest Oz Film Prize and directed by Nicole Ma, Putuparri and the Rainmakers is part of the Goologoolop NAIDOC Week Screenings.

A retrospective of West Australian Indigenous short films is also screening on the Perth Cultural Centre Screen as part of the celebrations.

This event is supported by MRA and ScreenWest.
