RTR FM’s The View From Here film series reaches its halfway point, with the release of episode six in the twelve-part series.

Shot on location at Perth’s Yo Yo Studios, The View From Here‘s latest instalment showcases the atmospheric sounds of Perth five-piece Mt. Mountain. One of Perth’s ‘must see’ bands, Mt. Mountain deftly blends the soft and loud, the intense and the ethereal. The band demonstrated their skill for creating expansive soundscapes as they ran through four songs, including Seek the Sun, Chantry, The Villain and She Runs. Mt. Mountain has a dusty, yet dark, sound that traverses psych, drone and stoner rock.

Comprised of fuzzed-out basslines, meandering guitars and frontman Stephen Bailey’s haunting, hypnotic vocals, Mt. Mountain are creating music that sounds like it could come straight out of the Californian desert, whilst retaining a unique quality all of their own.

Filmed, edited and animated by Sam Price. Produced by Chris Wheeldon. Audio mixed by Mt. Mountain. Engineering by Malcolm Clark. This project is supported by the Department of Culture and the Arts.

Exhibiting on the PCC screen throughout May.
