The Snake Pit is where all the action is at Scarborough Beach. Named aptly-so after the circa 1950s Snake Pit, where the young, old and in between once met to enjoy rock’n’roll and dance, almost in the very same spot.

Nowadays, the Snake Pit is where you can meet with friends and enjoy events, exhibitions, ball sports and wheeled sports including skateboarding, scooter and BMX, all year round.

There’s a basketball half court, climbing wall, and skate zone which includes a 12 foot deep skate bowl, quarter pipe, stairs, ramps, rails and more. There’s something for all ages and skill levels so everyone can have a go.

There’s also plenty of space to sit back and enjoy the activities going on around you.
